zzz.

lala!~

ok 'minmin' made me post. so rawrr. posting -.- [no actually its mostly cause i have nothing better to do(:]

i went to WALES/LONDON. yayy!~ dalefort rocks.its like this fort on a hill [damn far away from 'civilisation'] and GEOFF the chef [heh!] rocks(: yayy for dessert(: and the dessert queen germ(:

lala! our instructors were CAROLINE and WINTER. [i think winter's such a cool name(:] and like they know ALOT ALOT. heh!

monday 280507:
arrived at heathrow airport and went too windsor for breakfast. got there super early so we had to wait for the shops to open. kinda cold(: err ya. then went on this superr long journey [coach ride] to dalefort T_T like 10hrs long? oh well when we arrived we got dinner! yayy.

tuesday 290507:
gahh. germ bet that i couldnt eat 40 slices of toast in 5days. T_T oh well.
lala~ so we went to the Gann saltmarsh on monday to do an interrupted belt transect on succession. using the optical level to measure height can get really tiring for your back ><>

ya err. then on wednesday we went to jetty beach for a continuous belt transect T_T gahh. so long. it was superr detailed and like it took damn long to get to the splash zone T_T but yayy we found shore crabs(: and BEADLET ANEMONE. heh! anw. we prolly identified alot of species wrongly. cos for some WEIRD reason we kept identifying stuffies as Laminaria digitata also known as oarweed. which is kinda impossible cos like oarweed cant be present in the splash zone -.- gahh.

lala!~ being accident prone i managed to cut my hand on barnacles. whee!~

thursday 300507:
off to castle beach to see the exposed rocky shore(: [BES=3] jetty was sheltered [BES=5] anw. castle beach we did stratified belt transect. superr dangerous. cos its like exposed the rocks were STEEP. T_T but no one got hurt [i think] but once u get to the top of the rocks like splash zone that area, u get a good view(:
anw, we started from the area where the sea meets the shore and lala!~ clumsy me dropped the optical level which floated off to sea(: but WINTER saves the day and got our optical level. YAYY FOR WINTER(:

friday 010607:
population studies(:
went to castle beach to do mark and recapture method to estimate population size of sandhoppers(: [mini cockroaches cept wayyy cuter(:] so we went arnd catching sandhoppers lala! superr fun cept for the seaweed -.-
so basically we captured the sandhoppers and marked them and released them again(:
then walked to Watwick bay to find out limpet densities at 4m and 6m above chart datum. surprisingly u dont feel tired walking [we walked 3miles(:] heh! must be the weather.(:

anw. the anal photogs/gay couple/fishermen/teachers/patrick star and spiderman lagged behind like superr ALOT. -.- UNCLE PUAY!
ok lala!~

ya so count limpet densities then lunch and FREE TIME! yayy. so me n mj 'sunbathed' and slept on the rocks high up on the beach (: funfun!
i ate my 36th piece of bread on the beach T_T so sick of bread.

saturday 020607
ok the fifth day of the bet. and yes! i successfully eat 43 SLICES OF BREAD. yeahh(: after the 43rd slice i got so sick of bread i ate cereal instead for breakfast. heh! lala!~

went to SKOMER island(: it was sorta raining though T_T but it didnt actually rain(: anw while waiting for the boat to arrive saw a couple divers. T_T diving when the temperature's like 4-5 degrees? ><>
bully uncle puay abit(:
and LOL chanel dropped her waterbottle into the sea. but the nice nice guy in the speedboat picked it up for her. [then he started to act dao. u noe like act hero then act dao -.-]

at skomer. we saw PUFFINS. oh-so-cute puffins(: yayy! u just fall in love with puffins at first sight. lala~ but it was kinda cold cos of the wind. its like non-stop and can practically blow you away. heh!

sunday 030607:
a day to ourselves. sort of anw.(: we're suppsoed to do our own projects. so my grp having 5 ppl T_T had to like go do 2 projects. so we went to castle beach to find out:
1) if limpets [Patella species] are bigger when they are sheltered from wave action as compared to limpets directly exposed to wave action
2) if limpets are bigger higher up [4m] above chart datum as compared to limpets lower down [2m] above chart datum.
and after measuring..we found out..that..

THERE IS NO STATISTICALLY SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCE -.- gahh. kinda sadd to accept a null hypothesis. ><
anw we did mann-whitney u test for both and like our 1st project was only a 0.07 away from being statistically significant. it was really quite sadd.
actually we wanted to do 4m and 6m above chart datum but cos it was exposed shore it was superr risky to like measure limpets at 6m [puts u in a really awkward position]

oh well. was hoping to do smth on beadlet anemones though. they're sooo squishy ><><

monday 040607:
woke up superr early to pack luggage cos we're leaving dalefort T_T to go to birmingham and then london T_T haiz. lala then we left. aww. so lala long long coach ride to this place which has the longest welsh name ><

well tt's all i rmb. its really LONG ok and its hard to pronounce. [well duh! its in welsh] lala bought stuff like this thinggum for my piano. yayy! then went to like CAT [centre of alternative technology] kinda cool(: then Dinorwig hydroelectric power station. i rly dont get dinorwig. its like. for every 3units of electricity they produce, they need 4units to pump the water back up to the lake. bahh. in other words, THEY USE MORE ELECTRICITY THEN THEY PRODUCE like diao? but they do make alot of money. they sell their electricity at like roughly $1 per unit [smth like tt] and buy $0.10 per unit to pump the water back. heh. smart eh?

oh well. basically if CAT comes to look at dinorwig thye are so gonna be screwed. heh!

then we finally arrive at CELTIC ROYAL HOTEL. cool place really.(: i got a queen sized bed yayy! and the food's nice(: so shatec heh!

tuesday 050607:
set off to CADBURY choc factory(: yayy! bought LOADS of chocs for ppl(: yayy! the whole place smelt GOOD. heh! and like its so willy wonka ok ><>

u get to use chocolate to like DRAW and stuff heh! funfun! then err. saw ppl handdrawing chocolate shoes(: lala!~ then finally gift shop(: lala! so we got to buy stuff yayy! i practically grabbed/bought everything. heh! oh and there's this place which lets u create ur own chocolate for FREE. so cool! whee~

ok blahblahblah reached barkston garden hotel.

wednesday 060607:
had a london tour. so we got to see all the impt impt buildings like buckingham palace and big ben. lala!~ then saw changing of guards quite interesting actually. then walked arnd to other touristy places. blahblablah.anw. not the point. the point is. we watched WICKED. and it was quite cool. out tix cost us like $181.50. gahh. so ex. [more ex than phantom of the opera can and we didnt even get front row seats] oh well. *toss toss* heh! bimb glinda.

wicked's like this story abt the wicked witch in wizard of oz. how she's actually not wicked just misunderstood. basically. she like has this talent for sorcery and gets to meet the wizard. but the wizard doesnt actually have any powers at all and needs the witch to like do magic for him. and he actually wants the power to stop all teh animals from talking and stuff. so lala. the witch rebelled against the wizard. so the wizard told the whole emerald city that she's wicked. blahblahblah. then glinda the good witch is actually a bimbo. like she's seriously dumb. like:
'why cant u teach us history without rattling on abt the past?'
-.- oh gosh. and lala. BOCK! yeahh the tinman(: his accent's soooo cool!

thursday 070607:
went to the national history museum. yayy! saw dinosaurs. heh the comics are damn cool(: lala anw. got to see human bio. yayy! funfun!~ ok so there was a section on cells and stuff then a section on memory and studying and lastly perception. kinda cool!(: so we first get to look through a microscope [it wasnt a very good sample though] then we did some memory games. haha. kinda cool.

lala ok so free time again. so we went to covent garden the supposed handicraft market area. but its like damn ex T_T rawrr. then we went to charing cross to like buy books and stuff. lala!~ then finally go to harrods. heh. go krispy kreme. lala!
harrods is actually damn cool. just really ex. and like the ppl are especially nice to u when u buy stuff frm them -.- rawrr. and they thought we were from thailand -.- rawr? lala oh well then we went off to heathrow airport and lala flew back. haiz. so fast ><

at heathrow. got ppl exceed weight limit heh! germ spent alot ALOT of money. like $1057.41 sing? heh. lala then someone got lost in the airport. loll. anw me and MARIA went off to window shop for shades. yayy for OAKLEY!~ haha. damn fun and i could ACTUALLY afford the shades ok. but they abit ex T_T lala. oh well. then plane got delayed. gahh.

saturday 090607:
arrived in singapore at 6.28pm. -.- we were scheduled to arrive at 5.55pm oh well. yayy its good to be home. i cna actually eat whatever i want. cos like in total i ate like 75++ slices of bread [toast] i stopped counting at 75 but i ate more than tt. gahh. I AM SO SICK OF BREAD. lala! oh well(:

i decided that its abt time i updated (:

my trip to greece whee!
ok so we left on the 4th dec at 1 am for a 12 hr flight to greece. superrr long. oh well. I LOVE MY DAD! yeahh. cos of his job we got GREAT seats. yeahh. [ok so its not the first time but like.. i can nvr get enough of it (:] oh well. so the flight was kinda interesting n all. but got alot of bad weather. haiz. ><

then the supervisor came by and told us we didnt have any food.. [AHH!] then they called teh groundstaff ppl n ask them to apologize to my dad since we got no food.. haiz. but then right.. it turns out that it was stuck in economy class -.- zzz. ok so yayy we got food in teh end. -.- oh well.
after n uberrr nice sleep. wheee. woke up to find no ice cream for breakfast ><>< haiz.. oh well.

reached greece at 7am [1pm singapore time] and the temperature was 4C. wheee~

then took this uberr long cab ride to our hotel and slept.

5th December:
woke up n went to hike up a mountain [haiz.] to see ACROPOLIS. yeahh(: saw temple of Athena. [felt so rg...] oh well. the place was just very historical then got this jap tourist who was like standing on the ledge n could like fall off at anytime. O.O ladeeda.
went to Plaka area which is like supposed to be the 'greece shopping district' -.- not true. then saw rodney o.o [rodney's the supervisor of the flight we took to greece] ladeeda

6th December:
went to the temple of zeus. wahhahahaa. it has nth. cos majority of the place crumbled. -.- bahh. then saw Hadrian's Gate. which is uberr cool. cos on one side it says THIS IS THE CITY OF ATHENS BELONGING TO THESEUS. the other side says THIS IS THE CITY OF HADRIAN NOT BELONGING TO THESEUS. -.- diao?

went to LYCABETTOS which is like a bunch of ruins on the top of a hill. bahh. damn tiring to walk up -.- lalalala. the view was.. ok..
